    Harry joined Devon Wildlife Trust in October 2011, having spent the previous five years as Chief Executive of the Earth Trust in Oxfordshire. He has worked for nearly twenty-five years in the environmental sector, including spells at the Council for National Parks, Kew Gardens, CPRE and the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. Harry studied Geography at Durham University (BSc) and then Environmental Policy at Wye College, University of London (MSc). He has a passion for the environment and a particular interest in landscape scale conservation, having played a key role developing the Wildlife Trust movement's Living Landscapes programme.

    Martin is a globally renowned leader in climate and environmental finance, having conceptualized and led low carbon investments in the public and private sector for more than 20 years. Martin joined Pollination from the European Investment Bank (EIB) based in Luxembourg where he was the Head of the Environmental Funds and Climate Finance Policy Unit. At the EIB, Martin has led investments into new climate and environmental sectors, such as natural capital and the blue economy and helped to develop new business models, solutions for blended finance and other innovative financing mechanisms for more developed low carbon sectors, such as energy efficiency and renewable energy. At the EIB, he also supervised the Natural Capital Financing Facility, a pioneering joint EIB and European Commission initiative, and raised EUR 2.1bn for carbon, capture and storage and innovative renewable energy demonstration projects as part of the so-called NER300 initiative. He served on the Board of Directors for the Green for Growth Fund in Luxembourg and was a Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London responsible for the carbon finance activities of Merrill Lynch. Martin was also a Carbon Finance Specialist at the New York based environmental investment firm RNK Capital LLC and started his career at the OECD Climate Change Unit in Paris as well as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Bonn.

Before joining government, Emily worked in environmental policy for the United Nations Environment Programme across Asia-Pacific and held roles in the private sector in renewable energy project development and at BP.     Henri Brocklebank is the Director of Conservation Evidence and Policy at the Sussex Wildlife Trust, covering both terrestrial and marine aspects.  She is vice chair of the Sussex Local Nature Partnership, having helped develop the Sussex Natural Capital Investment Strategy.  Henri chairs the 'Help Our Kelp Partnership' which supports the Sussex IFCAs proposed byelaw to withdraw trawling from 304km2 of the nearshore Sussex seabed.  Other organisations within the Help Our Kelp Partnership are the Blue Marine Foundation, Marine Conservation Society and Big Wave Productions.

    Paul Dobbins joined the World Wildlife Fund to lead the global project, “Advancing Seaweed and Shellfish Aquaculture for Climate Change”. Paul provides thought leadership and financial expertise on how seaweed and shellfish aquaculture can be scaled for increased biomass production and excess nutrient remediation. 
    Before joining WWF, Paul spent a decade helping to develop commercial kelp farms in Maine as co-owner of Ocean Approved/Atlantic Sea Farms, and Bangs Island Mussels. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at IDEXX Laboratories, a publicly traded provider of products and services for animal health. Earlier in his career Paul participated in the funding, growth, and sale of several consumer product and business-to-business companies. 
    He served on the advisory boards of Maine Sea Grant, the Aquaculture Research Institute at the University of Maine, the Maine Aquaculture Association, Focus Maine, The Maine Technology Institute, and the Conservation Law Foundation. Paul is a U.S. delegate to The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) open-ocean aquaculture working group, and an advisory board member of the North Atlantic and European Mussel Organization, Oceans 2050, and Manomet.

    He has worked for Nestlé UK&I for over 20 years, originally in operational and engineering roles. He is both a chartered environmentalist and IEMA fellow, as well as a chartered engineer (IET). He is focussed on bringing together the engineering expertise, operational experience and environmental insights of the organisation alongside collaborative partnerships with academia and key delivery partners to develop and implement robust and effective sustainability programmes.

    Louise Heaps is the global lead on Sustainable Blue Economy for WWF. During her career in ocean conservation and natural resource management, she has led ocean policy and field-based programmes in developed and developing countries, spending 5 years in the Pacific Islands region as the Conservation Director for WWF’s Pacific Programme. On returning from the Pacific, Louise led WWF-UK’s domestic and international ocean programme before becoming their Marine Chief Adviser. During this time, she was an advisory group member of WWF’s Global Initiatives for Coastal East Africa, Smart Fishing and the Coral Triangle. Since completing an MBA at the University of Exeter in 2016, Louise convened the process to develop the Sustainable Blue Economy Finance Principles in partnership with the European Commission, European Investment Bank and the International Sustainability Unit and is a member of the UNEP FI founders group for the Sustainable Blue Economy Finance Initiative.

    David is chairman and founding owner of The Environment Bank Ltd which he set up in 2006 to promote the need for development to take proper account of wildlife conservation. The concept is about to be made a mandatory requirement of planning law in England. He promotes environmental markets to leverage investment into the natural environment, a concept Government is now adopting. David was Deputy Chair of Natural England until 2016 and a member of the government’s Ecosystem Markets Taskforce. He is a Board Trustee of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, chairman of Plantlife International, a Commissioner with the Food Farming and Countryside Commission, chair of the Northern Upland Chain Nature Partnership and co-founder of the NatureSpace Partnership which creates and manages habitat for protected species. He is a passionate conservationist and wildlife photographer. He has a farm dedicated to conservation in Nidderdale and Swaledale, North Yorkshire.

    Kerry ten Kate is an independent consultant, advising governments, companies and civil society organisations on how best to integrate the natural environment into economic decision-making. She is a non-executive board member of Natural England and a trustee of the RSPB, where she chairs the Conservation Committee. She was on the Natural Capital Committee from 2012-2015. Kerry is a member of the Aldersgate Group, Conservation Fellow at the Zoological Society of London and a member of IUCN’s Commission on Ecosystems Management. Formerly a barrister, Kerry served on the Secretariat of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in 1992 (the 'Rio Earth Summit'). She was policy adviser at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Director of Investor Responsibility at asset manager Insight Investment. She founded and directed the international Business and Biodiversity Offsets Programme (BBOP) at Forest Trends, in which 100 organisations worked over fifteen years towards ‘Biodiversity Net Gain’.

He is a routine and energetic speaker at conferences, events, and universities related to impact and outcomes-based investing in the environment and health sectors. Eric married way over his head and has two daughters who keep him humble.

Ida also serves on the Advisory Board of the UCLA Institute for Carbon Management. 
    Previously Ida was Senior Vice-President and Senior Counsel for the Capital Group/American Funds (CG)based in London.  She also founded Capital Group’s European Public Affairs function. Before CG, Ida was European Counsel for JP Morgan Investment Management. Prior to this, she was a Partner at the international law firm Jones Day.

    Ben grew up in Edinburgh before studying a BA Honours degree in Philosophy and Politics at the University of York. After graduating he returned to Edinburgh and worked in a number of different roles before going on to complete a postgraduate LLB and a Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. He then qualified as a solicitor and practised as a lawyer with one of Scotland’s large commercial firms. As well as his legal training, Ben has worked in financial services, for an NGO, in renewable energy, in a school and in hospitality.
    Throughout his career, Ben has been a committed political activist. In 2016 this culminated in being elected as the MSP for the Edinburgh Northern and Leith constituency, where he lives.
    As a backbencher, Ben has previously served on the Scottish Parliament’s Social Security Committee, Justice Committee and Sub-Committee on Policing. He was also a Parliamentary Liaison Officer to the First Minster between 2016-2018. In June 2018 he was appointed as Minister for Europe, Migration and International Development in the Scottish Government, before moving in February 2020 to his current role as Minister for Public Finance and Migration.
    He is a committed internationalist and passionate about social justice and sustainable, inclusive economic progress. Beyond working and campaigning, Ben likes running, football and watching films and documentaries.

    Dr Sara McGuckin is Head of Natural Science with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA), an executive agency within the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs. Sara leads on terrestrial nature conservation; protected area designation, protection and management; biodiversity evidence and reporting, and advising on agri-environment policy and nature recovery programmes.  She is currently involved in the development and implementation of cross-border habitat restoration projects, funded through EU INTERREG programmes and its successor PEACE PLUS.  Sara has worked in NIEA, and its predecessor, Environment and Heritage Service for 19 years, in the areas of waste and resource management, environmental regulation and nature conservation.  Sara studied Geography at Queen’s University Belfast, and has an MSc in Land Resource Management, Master of Research in Environmental Studies and a PhD in agricultural and environment science.

    Lee is the Environment Manager for Diageo’s distilling and maturation operations in Scotland. His work covers both regulatory compliance and achieving Diageo’s grain to glass sustainability goals. His current focus is on achieving the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard for Diageo’s 11 malt distilleries within the Spey catchment area, building on a long standing partnership between Diageo and the other key stakeholders which form the pioneering Spey Catchment Initiative. Lee is also actively involved in the Leven Programme, linking the Programme’s goals of linked social, economic and environmental improvement with the sustainability agenda at Cameronbridge, Scotland’s largest distillery with its associated bioenergy plant.
    Prior to joining Diageo in 2015 Lee worked for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency as an Environment Protection Officer and subsequently as a carbon compliance and reduction specialist. He has a PhD from the Open University having researched the link between climate change and the uplift of the Himalayas, an experience that left a lasting passion for the mountains and all wild places.

    Krista has over 20-years’ experience of working as an environmental planner in the public, private and community sectors and joined the Greater Manchester Combined Authority as Natural Capital Coordinator in 2016.  In this role, Krista provides strategic support on delivering a natural capital approach as part of the Natural Course EU LIFE Integrated Project, Greater Manchester Urban Pioneer Project and the Greater Manchester Natural Capital Group.  Current projects include designing an Environment Fund for Greater Manchester, to get more funding into the natural environment; delivering biodiversity net gain, supporting planning policies set out in the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework as well as a communications campaign to promote the work being delivered across Greater Manchester to manage the natural environment.

    Jane Pilcher is Group Treasurer at Anglian Water Group where she has responsibility for all finance and treasury activities of the group. She has prime responsibility for raising group debt, debt and bank investor relations, and liaison with the three rating agencies.   In August 2017, Jane led the launch of the company’s inaugural green bond, the first GBP Utility public bond, and the first GBP bond since 2015. She was responsible for procuring the Second Party Opinion, writing the Company’s Green Bond Framework as well as leading the extensive investor marketing to deliver a successful bond. Further sustainable finance has been raised since then with a second GBP public bond, US Private Placement debt as well a CPI Note with Phoenix Assurance; c. £800m of finance has now been raised in accordance with the Green Bond Principles.
     
    Jane also has responsibility, on behalf of the company, for the asset and liability management of the company’s £1bn+ pension fund. She is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a Non-Executive Director of the Loughborough Building Society.

    Martin spent much of his early career as a lecturer and researcher and has a PhD in applied economics.
     
    He is a Professor (University Advisory Panel) at Coventry University; is the first Honorary President of LARIA (Local Authorities Research and Intelligence Association) and on the board of the Centre for Cities. 
     
    He has been President of SOLACE (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives) and is currently its national spokesperson on local government finance and future funding.
     
    He is the Local Government Association (LGA) National Procurement Champion.
     
    He is on the King’s Fund General Advisory Council and Chairs the National Cross System Board for Sustainable Health & Social Care.

    Carlos Sanchez is a Climate Resilience Investment Director at Willis Towers Watson. His work focuses on the promotion of investment solutions aimed at fostering a more efficient pricing of physical climate risks within investment decision-making processes. Carlos is also the Executive Director for the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI). A flagship COP26 initiative, CCRI is led by the private sector and has a growing membership of 60+ institutions committed to the development and testing of solutions for resilient investment decision-making.
    Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, Carlos managed a climate resilience finance facility at the Multilateral Investment Fund - part of the Inter-American Development Bank Group – also dedicated to identifying specific investment opportunities in connection to physical climate risks. 
    In the past Carlos worked at the Economic Office of the Spanish Embassy in Angola as Foreign Direct Investment Advisor and later as Business Development Manager for a project finance advisory firm. 
    Carlos holds a Masters in Finance from the London Business School where he contributed to the drafting of the ESG chapter within LBS’ Private Equity textbook - and a Masters in Global Affairs from Georgetown University.

    Prior to joining SLM Partners full-time, Darius Sarshar worked as a consultant on land investment strategies. His projects included the design and launch of the &Green Fund for the IDH Sustainable Trade Initiative and the Norwegian government; the development of an African greenfield forestry investment fund for TNC; and advisory roles with the World Bank’s Forestry Investment Programme (FIP), the African Development Bank, and private equity funds.
    Before that, Darius co-led the Asian business of New Forests, a leading forestry investment company based in Australia with US$3 billion in assets under management. In his seven years with the company, Darius ran the environmental markets investment programme for blue chip clients, and then raised and deployed an award-winning $170 million Asian forestry fund. Prior to joining New Forests, Darius ran the FSC certification programmes of SGS, worked for WWF’s flagship Global Forest & Trade Network programme, and ran a farm forestry contracting business in the UK. Darius has an Honours degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in Forestry from the University of Oxford, an MBA from the Melbourne Business School and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has co-authored publications on forestry and featured in TV documentaries on sustainable forest management for the BBC, ArteTV (France) and NHK (Japan).
    Darius is an Investment Director at SLM Partners. He is responsible for all aspects of fund management related to the SLM Silva Fund in Ireland.

    Pat has worked in forestry and land-use for over 25 years. He joined the Forestry Commission in 2002, heading its economic team and leading the FC’s climate change work at GB level.  He was an author and editor of the 2009 Read Report on the role of UK forestry in helping to tackle climate change, and chairs the team which has developed the UK Woodland Carbon Code.  In April 2019, Pat transferred to Scottish Forestry, a new government agency set up as the forestry authority in Scotland. His team continues to deliver economic advice and management of the Woodland Carbon Code on behalf of all the forestry authorities in the UK. A key part of Pat’s work currently is to help develop markets in forest ecosystem services, in particular the further development of the UK woodland carbon market.

Katherine is the co-author of a number of SYSTEMIQ’s flagship reports including “Better Finance, Better World”, “Infra 3.0” and “Growing Better: Ten Critical Transitions for Food and Land Use Systems”. Katherine helped launch the “Tri Hita Karana Forum for Sustainable Development” in Indonesia which has mobilised over $10bn for high impact projects and is an Advisory Board member for the “Responsible Consumer Fund”.
    Having grown up on the Australian coast, she is passionate about investing in nature-based solutions, with a focus on forests and oceans. Before joining SYSTEMIQ, Katherine was a lawyer in Australia and the UK. She specialised in project finance and M&A, financing renewable energy projects and other major infrastructure. Katherine received First Class Honours in Law / Commerce from the University of Queensland.

    Dr Rhian-Mari Thomas was awarded an OBE for services to green banking and was appointed chief executive of the UK Government and City of London Corporation-backed Green Finance Institute in 2019. She is chair of the Green Finance Institute’s Coalition for the Energy Efficiency of Buildings.
    Rhian was previously the global head of green banking and the founder and chair of Barclays Green Banking Council, which developed and launched Barclays’ suite of green finance products and services.
    These include issuance of the first green bond by a UK bank backed solely by UK assets, the first green mortgage by a major UK high street lender and establishing Barclays as the first commercial bank with a full green corporate banking proposition to complement Barclays’ existing green bond origination capabilities.
    Rhian is an Emeritus Member of the Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). She also previously sat on the UK Government Green Finance Taskforce, the Banking Environment Initiative’s Fintech Taskforce and the steering group for the United Nations Environment Programme Principles for Responsible Banking.
    Rhian is a commissioner for the Commission for Carbon Charging, a member of the Global Advisory Council for Oxford University’s Sustainable Finance Programme and an Advisor to the UK Government’s Climate Finance Accelerator programme.
    Rhian began her banking career at Barclays Investment Bank in 2000, spending 10 years in leveraged finance and financial sponsors coverage before holding a succession of leadership roles across Barclays Corporate Bank and Barclaycard.
    She is a passionate advocate of diversity and fairness and was awarded the Barclays Woman of the Year award 2014/15 in recognition of her efforts to support the inclusion agenda both within the bank and the broader community. In both 2016 and 2017, Rhian was ranked in the Financial Times Outstanding Top 30 Global Executive LGBT Allies list.
    A fluent Welsh speaker, Rhian holds a PhD in Physics from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.

    With more than 15 years' experience of partnership working in the private, public and community sectors, Kirsten now heads up the Strategy and Policy team at Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership. Responsible for delivering the LEP's agenda around skills, innovation, infrastructure, place and business space, Kirsten is currently leading the work on implementing the Building back Stronger, Smarter and Greener strategy, including delivery of a framework for investment in natural capital and a transformational innovation centre in Crawley.
     
    Kirsten joined Coast to Capital in May 2015 as the Skills Development Manager, delivering Skills for Growth, the Skills Strategy for the Coast to Capital LEP, working in close partnership with business and public sector partners and stakeholders. Kirsten has been in her current post for more than four years.
     
    Prior to joining Coast to Capital, Kirsten worked at Brighton and Hove City Council for 8 years, most recently as Partnership Adviser for Learning and Skills. Through partner, community, employer and stakeholder engagement Kirsten delivered on national and local policy areas such as apprenticeships, careers guidance, reducing the number of young people not in employment, education or training and vocational learning. Prior to that she worked in the community and voluntary sector delivering projects aimed at diverting young people away from criminal activity and behaviours.
     
    Working closely with key partners, stakeholders, local authorities and government departments, Kirsten is adept at building strong relationships that support and drive forward the region's economic growth and productivity.

    Adrien started his career in an oceanographic research centre, where he studied the evolution of the gulfstream. He then moved to a more business driven position by joining McKinsey for the following 5 years. This is where he became familiar with circular systems, contributing to the report Growth Within, a circular economy vision for a competitive Europe.
    Adrien joined SYSTEMIQ because he believes a team of committed people, with the right skills and an innovative mindset can make a change. At SYSTEMIQ, Adrien’s focus is on the management sustainable resources management.
    Earlier in his life, Adrien served in the French navy for 1.5 years, fighting against piracy and illegal fishing in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. In his free time Adrien loves to sail, play rugby, and spend time with his little girl.
    He holds an Engineering degree from ENSTA ParisTech, with a major in Environment, a master’s degree in climate change from Institut National Supérieur de Techniques Nucléaires (INSTN), and a specialized master in strategic management from HEC.

    David originally trained as an environmental scientist, and worked on land degradation, catchment management and nature conservation in the UK and Australia, before turning his attention to accelerating investment in sustainable energy to address climate change.
     
    David was a founding Executive Director of Natural England and jointly led the consultation and design of the Rural Development Program for England (RDPE). He subsequently worked to restructure the public and private financing of development in Melbourne Docklands in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis.
     
    After taking a sabbatical to study law, David now works in private legal practice, and as a consultant providing advice to the private sector and government on environmental market design and regulation.

    David is the lead author of the Broadway Initiative paper Accelerating private investment in nature-based solutions which was published earlier this year. He is currently working on the market design, rules and standards for catchment markets.
    David holds both aJuris Doctor(JD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Melbourne, and a BSc (Environmental Science) with Honours from the University of Liverpool (UK).

He is chair of the International Standards Organisation Committee on Sustainable Finance (ISO/TC322). Peter was a co-founder and chair of Aldersgate Group for seven years and remains an active individual member. He is a trustee of the Green Purposes Company which holds the special share in the privatised Green Investment Bank (now Group) to hold it true to its green purposes. He is a trustee of The Wildlife Trusts and a member of the Our Natural World Advisory Panel to Esmee Fairbairn. He is a trustee of the Broadway Initiative pushing for ambitious new environmental legislation. Peter chaired the Business Interest Group for the Valuing Nature Programme, and sat on the Programme Advisory Board.
